Usually problems occurred with fatter, rounded nose bullets as opposed to more elliptical shaped bullets. For defense ammo, Speer Gold Dot shot fairly well but I would get an occasional premature slide lock with them. I've run 200 rounds of the more tapered Hornady XTP with zero problems.
